Memorial for Robert Graham

Born on Dec. 7, 1958
Departed on May 24, 2017 and resided in Glen Ellyn, IL.

Robert C. Graham, "Coach Bob", 58, of Glen Ellyn, beloved husband of Debbie (Lavine) of 35 yrs, loving dad of Ashley (Brian) Lite, Matthew Graham (Steve Janecek), adored Poppie of Liv and Elle Lite, treasured son-in-law of Wayne and Joan Lavine, dear brother-in-law of Chris Lavine and Pam (Tim) McLaughlin, and special brother of Brian (Coleen) Graham and Bridget Graham.

There are many, many special, new and long-time friends, from high school at York in Elmhurst, college at UW Wisconsin-Madison, the hockey community, the Glen Ellyn community, his hunting camp, and his tent rental business associates and clients. He considered all of you family; you know who you are, and he was always grateful for you.

Bob's love of hockey began at the age of 9, when he first started playing with the Huskies Hockey Club. He played all through high school as well as club hockey. He went on to play four years at left forward at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Hockey was always a major aspect of his life and he shared his passion for it with everyone he knew. He shared his knowledge and love of the game as a coach after his playing days.

He loved to teach and mentor the kids on his teams and enjoyed watching them learn, mature and develop as players and individuals. Bob coached for many clubs including the Flames, CYA, and the Huskies and served as President of the Huskies for the past decade. He lead his son and son-in-law's teams through two runs at Nationals.

Coach Bob had the extreme pleasure of coaching Mite to Midget Major, teaching youths to young men. He nurtured each player on his team as if they were his own children. His passion and devotion for everything he did in life, will live on through everyone he touched. He will always remain an inspiration to those who knew him.

"Duck soup" Coach Bob.

My sweet Bob's celebration of life and memorial hockey game will be held on Thursday, June 1 from 4pm-? at the Canlan Ice Arena(1581 W. Normantown Road, Romeoville, IL).
